Master’s Message, September 2019

My Brethren,

I would like to welcome you all back to Lodge after a magnificent summer, and hope that you are as excited as I am to be a member of Acacia as we step into our 100th year.

Thanks are immediately due to W.Bros. Lillico and Harrison for their never-ending efforts on our behalf. While the rest of us vacationed, our Treasurer and Secretary kept the relentless machine of administration well-oiled.

Special thanks are due to V.W. Bro. Jackson and his Lady Jennifer who once again hosted the Summer BBQ. The feeling of fellowship was palpable and the Jacksons’ generosity, combined with the hard work of our Junior Warden, Derek Brook and his Lady Kelly, made it a great time.

As is tradition, our first meeting in the fall will be kicked off with Grand Lodge Appreciation Night.  This year’s GLAN banquet is being catered by V.W. Bro. Kevin Zeigler and promises to be a culinary treat. If you are at all able, I would encourage you to contact Bro. Brook right now for a ticket.

Even if you cannot attend the banquet, please join us at the meeting following where R.W.Bro. Dennis Saikaley will be our Guest Speaker.

If you have not been out to Lodge recently, there is no time like the present to see old friends. Should you need a hand with transportation, or know of a Brother that needs our help, please let us know.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

W.Bro. Donald Learning
Worshipful Master

Master’s Message, September 2018

My Brethren,

I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the warm weather this summer and were able to have some time off to spend time with those close to you. I would like to express special thanks to our Junior Warden Bro. Frank Sigouin for organizing a successful summer barbeque and for V.W. Bro. Gordon and his wife Ann for hosting the event. The food was delicious and company excellent. We also enjoyed a perfect day to sit in the shade and enjoy some fellowship with our brothers and their families.

With the weather starting to cool and the days getting shorter it signals the coming of fall and also the start of our Masonic year.

Our first meeting of the Masonic year as always will be Grand Lodge Appreciation night which will begin with a delicious meal put on by the Daughters of the Nile. Our guest speaker for the evening is R.W. Bro. David J. Cameron, the Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario. I am also planning some education where I will bring two pieces of Acacia Masonic history back into the lodge.
I am very much looking forward to my year in the East and I also hope this year will bring many members who have for one reason or another not made it out to lodge over the last few years. If you haven’t been out in a while please make the time once or twice a month to attend if your schedule will allow and never worry if you are rusty in your work the important thing is to attend the meeting.
