Master’s Message, November 2017

Brethren,

Thank you to all who attended our October meeting. We received the Travelling Gavel from a contingent of Civil Service Lodge. I hope that we will be able to represent Acacia Lodge with an equally impressive representation when we take the Travelling Gavel to St. Andrew’s Lodge on November 2nd. The October meeting was concluded by a “Rusty Mason” talk by W. Bro. Rob Uhrig who focused on the Entered Apprentice Degree.

This month’s meeting should prove to be another interesting one. We will be investing the Secretary, Tyler and Inner Guard who were elected and appointed at the previous meeting. Brother Derek Brook will prove his proficiency in the third degree. And we will also have the opportunity to hold the Empty Chair ceremony in honour of those we have lost in the service of our country. I hope to see as many of you as possible at the meeting to show our appreciation.

Sincerely and fraternally,

W Bro. Jeff Campbell

Master’s Message, October 2017

Greetings Brethren,

Our first meeting of the year, Acacia’s Grand Lodge Appreciation Night was a success. R.W. Bro. Charlie Woods presented an insightful and timely talk. We also had the honour of presenting V.W.Bro. Ron Hobson with his 50-year pin. These presentations provide us with an opportunity of learning a bit of the history of the lodge through the recollections of our esteemed brethren. I would also like to take the opportunity to thanks Brother Junior Warden with arranging the festive board and the Daughters of the Nile for putting on a great meal.

At this month’s meeting, we will hold an election to fill the office of Secretary. W. Bro. Rob Uhrig will also lead us in a “Rusty Mason’s Night” where he will cover elements of the ritual as well as any questions regarding the work that we may have. I strongly encourage as many of you as possible to attend.

Hope to see you there!

Sincerely and fraternally,

W Bro. Jeff Campbell

Master’s Message, September 2017

Brethren,

Welcome Back! Brethren, I hope you and your families had a great summer. It is hard to believe that it’s almost over.
We had a great summer picnic hosted by Jenny and Michael Jackson at their lovely home. I would like to thank Don Learning, our Junior Warden for all his work in organizing the event. I would like to thank all the brethren who were able to attend the Grand Lodge communication this summer. As you all probably know by now, our new Grand Master is M.W. Bro Paul Todd from St. John’s Lodge in Carleton Place. It should be a very exciting next two years for the Ottawa districts.

Our Masonic Year starts off with Acacia’s traditional Grand Lodge appreciation night. It is always well attended by many members of Grand Lodge. The guest speaker will be R.W. Bro. Charlie Woods, Chairman of Leadership Development and Officer Progression, Board of General Purposes. I would encourage as many members as possible to attend as it would be a great opportunity to show our appreciation and interest. Please contact the Junior Warden, Secretary or me if you would like a ticket. We will also have the pleasure of presenting V. W. Bro. Ron Hobson with his 50 year pin.

I hope to see you there.
