Brethren,
How quickly summer flies away from us, it seems like just last month that I was being installed as master of our lodge. I trust that the summer was enjoyed by each of you, with time taken to relax with friends and family. Our lodge summer BBQ was a success, despite having to shift the date in deference to the weather (Mother Nature simply Will not be reasoned with), and we are thrilled to welcome the newest member of our Lodge family, Bro. lain Reid and his wife Breanne’s baby daughter, Harper.
There is an exciting year of masonry ahead of us at lodge and throughout the district! As our first order of business for the year we will try and adjust our working tools in a “Rusty Masons Night.” This will be done as education with demonstration, and most importantly explanation, of how we properly conduct ourselves in lodge, in accordance with our prescribed ritual. Also, we will, in what I hope will become a new tradition, Call the Roll for the start of the masonic year, as well as at our january regular meeting.
The coming months will be full of opportunities for fellowship and visitation, as well as education and degree work. Planning is in full swing to engage brethren and friends from all around the area for a Cornhole tournament which will provide us with an opportunity to boost our profile in the district, as well as to raise funds for the lodge and the District charity. There are decisions to be made about that at the upcoming CGP on the 8th of September.
Please join us this month for an evening of the how, and also the why, of our conduct in lodge!
